The Bioeconomy - Advantage Canada!

2012 Annual National Conference & Trade Show

Sheraton Wall Centre, Vancouver BC, November 27-28, 2012

A new renewable world is emerging. European and Asian countries continue to set targets for renewable energy, and realizing that biomass will play a key role, they look to Canada as a major biomass supplier. Yet as Canada ramps up its biomass production for export, our domestic bioenergy industry is growing exponentially, initially in community heat, bio-power, and biofuels, and soon in drop-in transportation fuels, cellulosic ethanol, bio-chemicals and bio-pharmaceuticals. Canada is a leader in many bio-technologies, and we anticipate leveraging our biomass resources and technology to be at the forefront in developing a bio-economy.

At the The Bioeconomy - Advantage Canada, we will see how Canada can position itself as a leader of the emerging bioeconomy. This event will be an opportunity to network with key industry, non-profit, and public sector stakeholders from North America, Europe and Asia. Conference presentations and panel discussions will cover:

  • Exponential growth in our domestic bioeconomy, shown in our 2012 Data Study;
  • What is hot in the Bioeconomy;
  • Opportunities for extracting High Value Products from biomass;
  • Overseas markets, with a focus on Pan-Pacific Bio-Trade;
  • Strategies for Accessing Capital and Financing for bioeconomy developments;
  • The status of Biomass Heat and Power, with a special session on Remote Communities;
  • And more!

You can download an exhibitor registration form by clicking here.

Post-Conference Tour: On November 29, we will lead a tour of the world's first gasification heat and power installation by Nexterra at the University of British Columbia, and then see BC's largest pellet terminal, Fibreco in North Vancouver. Stay tuned for more information.

B2B Session: We are planning to hold a business-to-business session in which delegates will have the opportunity to sign up for one-on-one meetings with a select group of companies. Stay tuned for details on who will be available for meetings and how to sign up.
