Mobile Office Debuts at BUILDEX Vancouver

Shipping Container Transformed into Fully Functioning Office

(Vancouver, BC - February 8, 2017) INNOVATION in Industry™ will be showcasing their mobile office – a former shipping container that has been transformed into a fully functioning space suitable for the every day business professional.

Creator and founder, Jason Robinson, said the idea grew out of filming the Harmony House Project which he completed in 2012. Robinson said; he amassed a huge amount of knowledge related to the built environment working with building industry professionals. He set on a personal challenge to create a green office that was intended to address space and energy efficiency, along with equipping it with the latest high performance technologies hitting the market.

“I started this project as a way to push the boundaries of space and energy efficiency,” says Robinson. “Working with industry supporters and sponsors, we’ve been able to show that spaces and materials can be repurposed and transformed into something that’s new, fully functional, and beautiful! Tiny Houses are really gaining traction and have numerous potential applications; in-fill housing, laneway housing, disaster relief housing, even remote worker camp housing. What this project really does well, is to challenge our perceptions of what “is possible” by marrying building performance, functionality, and beauty in our homes and workplaces.”

The structure is fully movable using a truck, and took two years to make from conception to full product.

On February 15 & 16, Robinson will display the structure at BUILDEX Vancouver – Western Canada’s largest conference and tradeshow for the construction, architecture, interior design and property management industries.
