The 2012 Vancouver Earth Run will focus on the oceans. All proceeds will go to nonprofit organizations in the Vancouver area that work toward better understanding and management of our marine resources.

Location:

Jericho Beach, Vancouver, BC

Entry Fee:

$25 for the 5K run/walk
$35 for the 10K race

Entry Fee Includes:

  • Souvenir race shirt
  • Accurate chip timing
  • Entry in the post-race prize raffle
  • Food, drink, and entertainment at the finish
  • Water on the race course
  • Earth Run Expo, with green living and sustainable product exhibitor

08:30am T-Shirt pickup
  Earth Run Expo starts
9:00am 10K Race starts
9:30am 5K Run/Walk starts
10:45am Awards ceremony and raffle prize draw
12:00pm Event ends

Online registration is available until June 1. Race check-in and packet pickup will be available one hour prior to race start. Onsite registration will also be available one hour before race start (shirt and size availability not guaranteed).

Cancellation Policy:

All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Earth Run will be held rain or shine (this is Vancouver, after all).

Prizes:

Got your eye on the prize? Recognition will be given to the top three male and female 10K finishers of each age group listed below, with awards for male and female age group winners. Please note that the 5K is non-competitive; awards will not be given.

  • 12-16
  • 17-22
  • 23-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60-69
  • 70 and up

Awards will also be given in the following categories:

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place fundraisers
  • Largest corporate, family, or school group
  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams (see details below)

Team finishes will be evaluated based on the four fastest team members, regardless of the size of the entire team. The finish times of these four team members will be added together, with prizes going to the fastest three teams. Teams may consist of family, friends, and colleagues. This is a great way to build team support – or foster some friendly rivalries!

Participant Requirements:

  • You must be able to complete the course within two hours.
  • You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenges of a 5K or 10K.
  • You must be registered to participate. Please, no bandits.
  • Headphones are permitted, provided that you remain aware of your surroundings and do not pose a hazard to yourself or others.
