“Fashion is not something that exists only in dresses.  Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
          –Coco Chanel

From the words of Coco Chanel to the local designers it’s clear that fashion is a reflection of ourselves and our lives, ideas, and innovation.  The catwalks of Milan to Paris, New York and even Hong Kong are a buzz of innovative thinking and everybody seems to be talking about “Eco-Fashion”.

The journey to carbon zero has been a productive one for Sandy McPherson and Alan Philip. The couple began investing in a more sustainable home after moving from the Saanich Peninsula to Duncan, BC, a few years ago. As they settled in, they began looking at a variety of renewable energy options before deciding on solar photovoltaic, also known as solar PV, which converts sunlight into electricity to offset electrical consumption.

Earth Hour! Only ONE DAY left!

Tomorrow the lights will be switched off to promote environmental awareness. On Saturday between 8:30 and 9:30 pm, turn off your electronics and enjoy a board game night with your friends or a romantic dinner – in candlelight.
Or, you attend one of the many local Earth Hour events. Just google your city and see if an event is happening close to you.

Last summer, OgilvyEarth released Mainstream Green,  a significant study on why mainstream consumers weren’t buying into the green movement.

Mainstream Green noted that the majority of consumers were ‘light green’ and willing to act sustainably, but the incentives simply weren’t motivating.

Thanks to all of our distinguished speakers, sponsors and guests who turned out to the BBOT’s annual Environmental Sustainabililty Forum at the beautiful Electronic Arts campus in Burnaby.

How to make over sized flowers out of used plastic bags

This post is based on a blog post by Tali Buchler.

“Wow, that looks cool! Can you make one for me?” I hear that many times when I am wearing my eco-art wristband. My answer usually is: “Well, I can’t make one for everyone, but I can show you how to do it. It is really simple.”
