From the words of Coco Chanel to the local designers it’s clear that fashion is a reflection of ourselves and our lives, ideas, and innovation. The catwalks of Milan to Paris, New York and even Hong Kong are a buzz of innovative thinking and everybody seems to be talking about “Eco-Fashion”.
The journey to carbon zero has been a productive one for Sandy McPherson and Alan Philip. The couple began investing in a more sustainable home after moving from the Saanich Peninsula to Duncan, BC, a few years ago. As they settled in, they began looking at a variety of renewable energy options before deciding on solar photovoltaic, also known as solar PV, which converts sunlight into electricity to offset electrical consumption.
Tomorrow the lights will be switched off to promote environmental awareness. On Saturday between 8:30 and 9:30 pm, turn off your electronics and enjoy a board game night with your friends or a romantic dinner – in candlelight.

“Wow, that looks cool! Can you make one for me?” I hear that many times when I am wearing my eco-art wristband. My answer usually is: “Well, I can’t make one for everyone, but I can show you how to do it. It is really simple.”
