Over 350 million people will migrate into China’s cities by 2025. As China scrambles to build the equivalent of two New York Cities every year, it is turning to green building technology – as much to save on energy bills as to save the planet. A magical glimpse of a Spirit Bear cub and its sibling in the Great Bear Rainforest on Canada's Pacific Northwest coast.

Unique to the Pacific Northwest coast of British Columbia, a small percentage of the Kermode Bear, a subspecies of the North American black bear, are born with a recessive gene that produces a white or yellowish fur colour (they are not albinos).  The white bears are revered by local First Nations groups that have many names for the special bears, including the well known “Spirit Bear” moniker.

The Stop Community Food Centre strives to increase access to healthy food in a manner that maintains dignity, builds community and challenges inequality. Located in downtown Toronto, The Stop provides frontline services such as a drop-in, food bank, perinatal program, community action program, as well as bake ovens and markets, community cooking, community advocacy, sustainable food systems education and urban agriculture programs. Underlying all of our work is the belief that healthy food is a basic human right.

This weekend we attended the SOS BC Run in Richmond, BC, Canada.  The run is in support ofSOS BC Childrens Village located in Surrey, BC, Canada.  The organization was founded in BC 25 years ago by Lois and Gilles Bouchard.  Every year this organization is building more and more momentum and we are happy to support such an amazing organization.

We were also happy to see our friends from Sustainability Television down at the event filming!
