Blog Post: Buncha Farmers Stain Stick
Being a full time student my life is quite hectic. I often have a day chock full of meetings, classes, and work/volunteer duties. As such, most of my meals get eaten very quickly or even on the go. In my haste to finish I almost always spill on myself. Dabbing myself with water never seemed to work, especially if it was a coffee spill on a white shirt. I had tried using some of the common on-the-go stain removers on the market (such as Tide To Go), but always wondered what was in them that allowed them to effectively remove a fresh food stain. My assumption was that it must be chock full of unnecessary chemicals. As I found after doing some research, I found that Tide only lists a small amount of the ingredients in their product. For example according to their material safety data sheet, the only ingredients listed are ethanol and hydrogen peroxide. These are the only ingredients listed because Tide is only required to list chemicals that are deemed hazardous. But what about the other components that make up the stain remover? Isn’t it fair and ethical for a business to list these so that consumers who are using their product know exactly what they are getting?
While working in a retail store that catered towards natural products for babies and children, one of my co-workers swore by a product we sold called Buncha Farmers Stain Remover, or as everyone in the store likes to call it, “the magic stick”. This stain remover literally gets out everything! Unlike some of the other stain removers on the market such as Tide’s that only work on fresh food stains, the Buncha Farmers can be used on virtually any type of stain. My former co-worker that introduced me to it uses it to get out sweat stains on white shirts, and even throws a small amount in her washing machine to enhance the cleaning process. Since I’m a professed messy eater I mostly use it for food stains, but have noticed that it even works when you get a little pen mark on your clothes as well. I’ve even heard from some of friends that it gets out set in stains on carpets as well. Best of all, Buncha Farmers is made with all natural ingredients, real soap and borax. It is also enhanced with real eucalyptus, which gives it an amazing smell. As a consumer I definitely feel better about not only using a product that contains natural ingredients, but as well supporting a business that is honest about what it is providing the public. While there are plenty of uses for this product at home, its small size (about 8 cm long) means that its easy to take on the go as well.
